The proliferation of cryptocurrency blogs and platforms hit a frantic pace during the 2017 bull run. After the bull run subsided, the news and blog space on all things cryptocurrency rationalised and leaned down to where we are today. Cryptocurrency blogs are still important as a source of news, trading advice, project updates and a source of onboarding for those interested folk who want to get started in the world of blockchain.

It’s important to note that this post is not structured hierarchically. This means that the first blog on this list is not necessarily the best and the last one is not the worst.

This is a curated list of sources I find of interest and if there’s a site that I didn’t have time to include I’d love to hear about it.

Even if it’s your site, let me know!

Toshi Times (toshitimes.com)

Toshi Times is a cryptocurrency news platform that reports the latest stories in the bitcoin, altcoin and blockchain world. The site publishes several pieces per day which makes it an ideal platform for readers that want to stay updated on the fast-moving cryptocurrency space.

The site has a weekly newsletter where subscribers receive compiled reports by Toshi Times’ analysts. You can sign-up for their newsletter directly on their homepage.

Cointelegraph (Cointelegraph.com)

Founded in 2013, Cointelegraph is an independent digital media resource covering a wide range of news on blockchain technology, crypto assets and emerging fintech trends.

Their editorial content is designed to deliver unbiased news, in-depth analytics, comprehensive cryptocurrency price charts, insightful opinion pieces as well as regular reports on the social transformation that digital currencies bring.

Bitcoin News (news.bitcoin.com)

The Bitcoin.com website was created by a group of very motivated Bitcoin early adopters. Roger Ver, the CEO of the website, has founded several companies in Silicon Valley until he eventually decided to switch to cryptocurrencies.

Apart from news, you’ll also find a section of Bitcoin games, a forum and a beginner guide. The beginner guide is a huge knowledge base that teaches you how to set up a bitcoin wallet, how to choose the best bitcoin exchange, how to avoid getting scammed and so much more!

NEWSBTC (newsbtc.com)

NewsBTC started with sole focus on educating its readers about Bitcoin and its potential impact on the traditional financial systems has grown with the cryptocurrency industry to cover various altcoins, blockchain projects, crowd sales, regulatory developments and the futuristic confluence of some of the leading technologies of time viz., blockchain, artificial intelligence, internet of things….

The Coinbase Blog (blog.coinbase.com)

As a place to buy and sell crypto easily and safely, there’s no better place than Coinbase (just watch out for the fees). The Coinbase Blog mostly informs about the most recent adoptions or updates of the platform.

They employ a wide range of crypto writers and editors who have no problem delivering engaging and reliable content. I like it for the fact that when Coinbase is having a promotion or offering an incentive to their user base you’ll find out about it here, for sure.

Finance Magnates, Cryptocurrency (financemagnates.com/cryptocurrency)

You might already know the blog Finance Magnates (formerly called Forex Magnates) since it’s renowned as an excellent source of knowledge for business people. It was founded in 2009 by Michael Greenberg who initially focused on the Forex B2B sphere.

The cryptocurrency section was added to the blog to develop their suite of offerings and it delivers on the quality front.

CoinDesk (coindesk.com)

CoinDesk is the leading digital media, events and information services company for the crypto asset and blockchain technology community. Its mandate is to inform, educate, and connect the global community as the authoritative daily news provider dedicated to chronicling the space.

Founded in May 2013, CoinDesk reaches millions interested in blockchain technology through its website, social media, newsletters, podcasts and video.

CoinDesk created the original reference rate known as the Bitcoin Price Index in 2013 which is widely sourced in the media including The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, CNBC and many others.

CryptoCompare (cryptocompare.com)

While the focus of this site is not a traditional blog per se, it’s an awesome site of crypto knowledge that deserves to be included in the list.

Founded in 2014, CryptoCompare is a global cryptocurrency market data provider, giving institutional and retail investors access to real-time, high-quality, reliable market and pricing data on 5,300+ coins and 240,000+ currency pairs. By aggregating and analysing tick data from globally recognised exchanges, and seamlessly integrating different datasets in the cryptocurrency price, CryptoCompare provides a comprehensive, holistic overview of the market.

At the granular level, they produce cryptocurrency trade data, order book data, blockchain and historical data, social data, reports and a suite of cryptocurrency indices.

Invest In Blockchain (investinblockchain.com)

If you’re an avid crypto reader, you’ll have already heard about InvestInBlockchain.com. The blog was founded in late 2017 and is a popular media site in the space. Content is updated daily by a large number of proficient writers and editors.
